The Siren Agency has joined the BEST Employers Alliance.  The Siren Agency's mission is to connect brands and people to create a more sustainable future. They work with businesses to explore how to deepen their commitment to sustainability and develop thoughtful, intentional strategies to help them become fully integrated sustainable businesses.

Just this month, Siren's founder, Annie Longsworth, was named CSR Professional of the Year at the PR News CSR Awards lunch in Washington, D.C. The award recognizes her role as a sustainability communication trailblazer, and for her ongoing commitment to creating positive change through responsible business practices.

Check out Siren's website to learn more about their purpose and services. They are clearly a great fit for the Employers Alliance!

The BEST Employers Alliance is the first public-private partnership in the nation to work across industries to prevent sex trafficking and sex buying. Private and public employers are eligible to join.

Upcoming Event: Sex Trafficking and the Tech Industry

3/17/2016

The Washington Technology Industry Association (WTIA) is hosting a morning conference in Seattle on May 10, 2016 to engage with the local tech sector to combat illegal sex trafficking in partnership with Businesses Ending Slavery & Trafficking (BEST).

Not only does technology make sex trafficking easier than ever, tech workers are among the biggest consumers of commercial sex.  Many of these transactions take place during work hours, some even in the parking lots of tech companies. And a majority of the women and children being exploited are forced, coerced or abused into selling their bodies. With a culture that implicitly condones objectifying women, it’s no surprise the tech industry is challenged to attract and retain women. To fight sex trafficking and sexual exploitation of forced victims, including minors, tech employers need to lead the way by talking about it openly, learning what can be done, and then committing to ending illegal sexual exploitation in our region.

Please share the event with local tech leaders and sign up now!
