Why adopt BEST Basics?
Human trafficking is one of the worst human rights abuses of our day. Human trafficking is (a) involving a minor in a commercial sex act and/or (b) the use of force, fraud, or coercion to compel a person into work or prostitution. And here’s the shocking thing - human trafficking is very likely happening in our community and among our employees, on company time, using company resources, and on company travel.

Taking steps to prevent human trafficking and help exploited people has numerous benefits:

- Inspire your employees. Our good employees want to feel good about helping vulnerable people and doing good in our community and the world. This training helps them identify victims within their day-to-day routines, so they can feel good about doing the right thing.
- Protect your brand. We wouldn’t want some rogue employees of our company to harm the good reputation we’ve worked so hard to establish. This training makes it clear to child predators that such behavior is not allowed at work.
- Mitigate risk. Human trafficking and sex buying pose civil and criminal liabilities to companies because it is a form of sexual harassment. Large brands are increasingly being sued and outed for their employee’s involvement in exploitation.
