Teaming Up To Make Seattle Safe For All

Back in January, the Seattle Hotel Association (SHA) launched a campaign to spark protective action against human trafficking in advance of the international soccer matches Seattle will host this summer. Signs commissioned by the SHA, designed by BEST, and distributed by SHA member hotels and on transit vehicles through the SHA’s partnership with Intersection, have been posted all around the region during the last 3 months. Estimates from Intersection are that the signs on just the tails of the bus were viewed more than 1,488,000 times.
Working with the leaders of the SHA has been a very encouraging experience for BEST. They have demonstrated remarkable care for vulnerable people, and eagerness to think innovatively about preventing exploitation and making strategic impact against human trafficking. The appreciation between BEST and the SHA is wonderfully mutual, as this message from the SHA conveys:
In 2026, the Seattle Hotel Association embarked on an incredibly meaningful and important project - and we could not have done it without the team at Businesses Ending Sex Trafficking (BEST). What began as a local campaign quickly became something far more profound: a movement that touched our teams, our guests, and our city in ways we will never forget.
BEST didn’t just offer their expertise in the prevention of human trafficking. They opened our eyes. They helped us see the people behind the statistics—the individuals whose lives could be changed, or even saved, by a single moment of awareness from someone working in one of our hotels. Their compassion, their expertise, and their unwavering belief that businesses can be a force for good inspired us to rise to the challenge.
This year, we endeavored to help provide training and resources to the residents of the greater Seattle area. In addition to our local efforts, the team at BEST got to work amplifying our message to other cities who answered the call to help protect those who are most vulnerable.
The impact was undeniable:
· Hotels across Seattle strengthened their culture of safety and vigilance
· Survivors were offered a connection to support because someone—trained by BEST—knew what to look for and how to act
· Our industry found a renewed sense of purpose rooted in humanity and responsibility
BEST helped us transform not just our practices, but our hearts. They reminded us that every employee has the power to interrupt exploitation, that every hotel can be a place of refuge, and that every business has a role in building a safer world.
We are profoundly grateful for their partnership, their leadership, and their belief in what we can accomplish together. The 2026 campaign changed our industry forever—and it changed us.
With deep appreciation,
The Seattle Hotel Association
All of us at BEST are thrilled to have worked with SHA on such an impactful campaign and are thankful for the relationship we've built together.
