There is no denying that a lot of business people love playing golf. If you've ever been to a golf course, then you know that already. So, it’s no surprise that a lot of business is actually accomplished on the golf course. Estimates say that one out of every three golfers are conducting some kind of networking or business activity on the golf course. Since golf is so popular with business leaders, Birch Equipment wants to use the sport to encourage businesses to raise funds to support the local community by hosting the ninth annual Birch Golf Classic on September 7, 2023 at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club.

Golf teams from businesses across Washington are raising funds for charity to play in the event. BEST is delighted to be one of three charities to receive the proceeds from the Birch Golf Classic. The event is providing donations that will help make a huge impact on BEST’s mission to prevent human trafficking.

The Birch Golf Classic brings together leaders in business, law enforcement, social services, professional athletes, and local celebrities to support charities. The tournament is organized by the owner of Birch Equipment, Sarah Rothenbuhler, who has teamed up with co-worker Jessie Everson and board members Jake Locker, Paul Twedt, Jay Julius, and Sam Adkins to help make the event a success.

“The businesses and community members who come together to support our recipient organizations are amazing, kind, and gracious and we are all grateful for organizations like our latest three-year recipients BEST, REST, and Whatcom Dream. We at Birch Equipment organize the Birch Golf Classic and donate 100 percent of the proceeds in the hopes that through awareness, connection, and financial support, these organizations are able to make a real impact against the travesties of human trafficking, hopelessness, and personal financial illiteracy,” commented Sarah Rothenbuhler.

As a sold-out tournament this year, the teams and Trailblazers are all connected to the Pacific Northwest and are coming from the states of Washington, Alaska, Montana, Texas, and California. One Community Trailblazer will join each team as the fifth-person pro, and each team will receive prizes like private winery tours, high-level sporting event access, an overnight stay in the San Juan Islands, VIP tickets to the Houston Rodeo, and even a trip to Hawaii will be given away.

The Birch Golf Classic’s teams page includes the list of competing teams and shows the charitable donations each team has raised in real time. BEST, REST, and Whatcom Dream will split 100 percent of the proceeds raised from the donations and sponsorships. Team fundraising ends Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at 2:00 pm.

This event is sure to be a great success for both the business community and the charitable organizations who benefit from one of Washington’s largest pro-am charity golf tournaments. To support this fun and generous event, please donate at BirchGolfClassic.com. When the business community and donors come together to support the Birch Golf Classic, the true winners are the charities and the vulnerable people whose lives will be changed for the better.
